10 vital rules to succesfully assemble a sectional door:

  1. The assembly of a sectional door must be performed on a perfectly flat support, at right angles. To do so, trace lines indicating where the rails must come up to, and adjust the area so that the door may easily be placed. Assemble the vertical rails, level and perfectly parallel, while scrupulously observing the same distance between the right and left rails droit, from the top to the bottom of each rail.
  2. The vertical rails must be securely bolted to the frame mounting bracket. Place a fastening about every 50 centimetres, including a top and bottom flange to ensure the sturdiness of your installation.
  3. The horizontal rails must be installed perfectly parallel to each other at a fixed distance (check the distance with the spacer bar).
  4. The horizontal rails must be fixed to the ceiling with suspensions for the rails to remain perfectly still, even when the ram is moving. You should also place a suspension every 50 cm.
  5. In the case of a manual door, a slight negative slope of 1 or 2 degrees must be given pour to help the door maintain itself in its full open position.
  6. In the case of a motorized door, thrust springs must be used. Don’t forget to lubricate the thrust springs and to completely compress them when operating the motor.
  7. The white nylon washers must be placed on the axles of the rollers of the second and last panels. This will prevent the ram from swinging during every opening-closing cycle.
  8. The hinges and roller brackets must be screwed with the suitable fastenings supplied. Do not over tighten the screws so as to not misshape the panel’s internal metal sheets.
  9. The panels must be centred to the rails system. If the rails system has been correctly set, a consistent distance should be measured between the rail and the edge of the panel (as well as when you open the door).
  10. The number of springs’ coils is indicated on the technical data sheet. A well balanced door should stabilize where you stop pushing it upwards, or pull it downwards.

Attention: the door must always work perfectly manually before thinking of motorizing it.
